A Fresh Start: Spring Clean Your Brand This Year

Somehow, it’s spring again—seriously, how?! This is a good time of year to refresh, reset, and give your brand the glow-up it deserves. Just like your home, your brand deserves a refresh to stay sharp, relevant, and on point. See my tips on how to achieve this below!

Refresh (or at least check up on) Your Website

  • Swap out stale copy and outdated images—freshen it up!

  • Double-check that your site is mobile-friendly (hello, tiny screens!).

  • Hunt down broken links and toss out anything outdated.

Audit Your Social Media Profiles

  • My biggest tip? Does your audience actually use this social platform?? Ask yourself if you’re talking to the right folks. If the answer is no, do something about it.

  • Give your bios, profile pics, and cover photos a mini makeover. Make sure all info is current and fits your brand.

  • Highlight your best content and say goodbye to anything outdated.

  • Make sure all your links actually work (no dead ends here!).

  • Know the basics of what’s working right now and what’s not and apply them to your profile. (Example: Hashtags are used differently now than they were five years ago—if at all. The “location” feature on Instagram is really only helpful for brick-and-mortar businesses, etc.)

  • Peek at past posts—what’s getting all the love? Do more of that!

Evaluate Your Content Strategy

  • Social isn’t the end all, be all. Don’t put all your eggs in that basket. Now’s the time to build your community in other spaces. (Psssst…Grow your email list!)

  • Try something new!

  • Plan fresh topics that align with YOU! Are you dreading creating content? If you’re not excited about it, chances are your audience will hate it too.

  • Repurpose your best content into different formats—work smarter, not harder!

Clean Up Your Email List

  • Say goodbye to inactive subscribers (they won’t even notice).

  • Segment your list so people get content they actually want.

  • Refresh your email templates—boring emails are a no-go.

Monitor Your Online Reputation

  • Google your business—what’s the word on the street?

  • Respond to reviews and comments with personality and care.

  • Correct outdated or misleading info floating around.

  • Encourage your biggest fans to leave glowing testimonials.

Assess Your Branding & Messaging

  • Keep your brand voice and visuals consistent everywhere.

  • Update any outdated taglines, colors, or mission statements.

  • Make sure your messaging still matches your current goals.

  • Check that all marketing materials are fresh and on-brand.

A little brand spring cleaning can do wonders! Take it one step at a time, have fun with it, and watch your brand blossom this season.
